Technology Manager / Associate Principal – Life Sciences Data & AI

Cranmore is proud to be partnering with a top-tier life sciences strategy firm to find an exceptional Technology Manager / Associate Principal to join their rapidly growing Technology & Operations practice.
This is a rare opportunity to sit at the intersection of strategy, data, and AI — shaping and scaling a proprietary AI-first customer intelligence platform that is already gaining strong market traction across BioPharma. The role is both visionary and hands-on: you'll drive innovation, lead high-performing teams, and build lasting client relationships, primarily across the East Coast.

What You'll Be Doing
Delivery & Team Leadership (40%)
• Lead end-to-end delivery of complex technology engagements spanning data engineering, AI/ML, and analytics — owning scope, timelines, and quality
• Serve as the technical and delivery authority across multi-disciplinary projects
• Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing East Coast technology team, coordinating across onshore and offshore resources
• Drive solution design, architecture, modelling, and deployment with a hands-on approach
• Establish delivery governance and a culture of accountability, innovation, and technical excellence
Client Engagement & Business Development (30%)
• Act as a trusted strategic advisor to senior life sciences stakeholders, translating complex business challenges into platform-powered solutions
• Grow and deepen East Coast client relationships, driving account expansion and new logo acquisition
• Contribute to the roadmap, monetisation strategy, and SaaS readiness of a proprietary AI platform
• Lead compelling proposals, capability presentations, and growth initiatives
Technology & Innovation (30%)
• Architect and implement modern data warehouses, data lakes, and analytics platforms on AWS, Azure, or GCP using Databricks, Snowflake, and Spark
• Design and deploy cutting-edge AI solutions — including GenAI applications, LLM-based workflows, RAG pipelines, and agentic AI architectures
• Build enterprise-grade APIs, data pipelines, and decision automation layers integrated with a proprietary platform ecosystem
• Establish AI safety, governance, and observability practices for production systems
• Stay ahead of the curve on emerging AI frameworks and feed new capabilities into the platform roadmap

Requirements
What You'll Bring
• Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• 12+ years of experience in technology consulting, life sciences analytics, or enterprise data architecture
• Proven track record leading large-scale data and AI initiatives in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Demonstrated experience with AI/ML solution design including LLMs, GenAI pipelines, RAG architectures, agentic AI orchestration (CrewAI, AutoGen, LangGraph), and frameworks such as LangChain or LlamaIndex
• Deep familiarity with life sciences datasets (sales, claims, CRM, marketing)
• Executive presence with strong communication and client advisory skills
• Experience building or scaling technology-enabled platforms
Preferred
• Knowledge of governance and compliance frameworks (HIPAA, GDPR, GxP)
• Background in biopharma digital transformation or omnichannel orchestration
• Expertise in API architecture, MCP (Model Context Protocol), tool-use architecture, or multi-agent system design
• Prior involvement in platform product development or GTM strategy
• Active engagement with the AI community (open-source, publications, conferences)
• Based on the East Coast or SF Bay Area
